Samsung Urges UK Galaxy Users to Activate Enhanced Anti-Theft Features



Samsung UK has issued a security advisory urging users of compatible Galaxy devices to activate the latest anti-theft features. This initiative aligns with the UK Home Office's new nationwide campaign aimed at combating the increasing incidents of smartphone theft across the country. Expanded Anti-Theft Features with One UI 7 Update

With the One UI 7 update, Samsung has introduced new anti-theft functionalities, including the Anti-Robbery suite, which comprises:(Gadgets 360)

  • Identity Check: Requires biometric authentication for any changes to sensitive security settings when the device is in an unfamiliar location.(Gadgets 360)

  • Security Delay: Implements a one-hour delay when users attempt to reset biometric data, providing time to lock the device remotely before unauthorized access can occur.(Gadgets 360)

These features were initially available only on the Galaxy S25 series but are now being expanded to include the Galaxy S24, S23, S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5. Additional devices will receive these updates later this year.(Gadgets 360)

To promote these features, Samsung has launched an awareness campaign featuring advertisements at London's Piccadilly Lights and in central London tube and train stations. The campaign also includes online video (OLV), connected TV (CTV), and broadcaster video on demand (BVOD) channels.
